Search Engine Friendly Web Pages
As everyone knows, when your web pages are search engine friendly, they will be more likely to get higher page rankings than otherwise and when you have search engine friendly pages, your site will come up ranked higher, especially when it contains keywords that have been optimized for search engines. There are certain tips that every web site owner would do well to pay heed to that will help them get their sites ranked higher.
To begin with, before you actually create your web page, you should be sure in your mind about the specific keywords you want to have on the page and which will help optimize the page. It would be wise to use such keywords in different parts of the page though you don?t want to overload the page with too many keywords, which will only result in having your page considered as spam which will not be good for your present ranking.
The next thing you need to ensure is that when you use a page title, it should begin with the keyword and it is also not a good idea to have more than five words in the keyword tag and there should be a title, keyword as well as description as the three most important meta tags in each page, and these should be present on each page. Next, you need to understand the importance of your first paragraph which is what the search engines use for analyzing as well as ranking the page, though of course it is also just as important to pay attention to the other paragraphs as well, and remember that you must sprinkle the keywords throughout your web page.
When using the keyword in your headline tag, it is advisable to keep it bold which can help in elevating your page in the rankings though remember not to use the tag too often and twice or thrice on a page would be sufficient because then it can easily be changed whenever necessary. When using images, you should use ?alt? as well as ?title? tags since it is not possible for search engines to otherwise identify whatever graphics are being used on the page. It would also help to rename the images to a specific keyword since that can get your page ranked higher.
When naming your file names, it would be a good idea to have them keyword rich since it will be of great use for the search engines to properly identify the pages and such naming conventions also make it easy for you to remember what the page is all about. You can extend this to naming of folders and to directories also.
Another very important aspect to getting high page rankings is anchor text which is nothing but a mask for URLs, which is text that points to different links. However, when using links, you should make sure not to use more than one hundred of them in a single page. Other tips to help you with making your web pages achieve higher rankings include not using frames, not trying to fool the search engines, and having the best as far as content goes. You also need to ensure that you do not use tricks in order to fool the search engines.
